Well it's a day before we leave.....NO we are not packed, but I feel comfortable that stuff is in piles and groups and it just needs to go into the suitcases and backpacks.
Today is pretty much a normal day....skating for Laureli along with dance, John swimming and tennis I feel like I have most of the running around done, just a couple of little things to do. If they don't get done that will be fine. Nothing that can't wait if it doesn't get done.
Hard to believe that 11 years ago Geoff and I were traveling to Russia on our first trip to meet the Lovely Lady Laureli at 4 months old. It seemed odd to be in Russia over the 4th of July a tradition of picnics and fireworks.
T - minus 24 hours and we will be on our way to the airport, flying to Chicago from Cincinnati then onto Beijing. We will do some sight seeing in Beijing and then on Sunday fly to Nanjing to where the Adoption Center is. David and his friends will be arriving there via the "fast train" which I take it as the bullet train. It will be interesting to see what the boys (he and his friends) think of the train ride. We will spend the week in Nanjing and on Friday fly to Guangzhou, to complete his medical exam and go to the consulate for his visa.
John is packed for tennis camp, it's only an hour class M- Thurs, but it gives him a sense that he is going to camp too, just like Laureli. Laureli says she is pretty much packed....but I am not positive. I trust that she has what she needs if not she will let someone know. All I can say is I have great friends whom I need to say thank you to for getting her to and from camp while we are away. They treat her as their own, can't thank them enough.
I managed to find 2 books for the plane, hoping that it will help pass the time for both flights. I think going to Beijing might not be so bad, we are flying at night so I am hopeful that I can sleep some. The flight back to the states will be interesting...we leave for the airport at 6 am ... but the flight does not leave until 1:30 pm...which on American time would be 1:30 am but I am guessing we may have adjusted by then.
I will try and post each day. I am still having issues with posting photos, so I may have to post them elsewhere. I will keep you updated.
